Our Favorite LBD moments!

Peplum, lace, short, long, v-neck, sweetheart neckline, dressy, casual, sexy, iconic.
These are just a few words that describe the Little Black Dress (LBD). There's a reason it has stood the test of time.

The LBD has been around for centuries. From Manet's impressionist dames to the classic Coco Chanel in a sleek LBD across the pages of Vogue magazine in 1926. It's the classic style that works, no matter what the occasion is.

From the red carpet to the big screen, the LBD has made a stylish debut since its popular inception in Vogue, declaring it "a uniform for all women of taste."

Here are our 10 favorite LBD moments!

Fashion meets decor!

Fashion meets decor, with summer fashion trends! Not only can bold stripes or soft pastels look great with a cute summer dress but also look great on an accent wall or a love seat. Be inspired by these 6 summer trends that will make you and your home look chic and summery.

Mixed prints are definitely not going anywhere this season. You can create a visually stunning look with mixed prints. Try mixing bold African inspired prints for a vibrant look. For a cohesive look, find a shared color between the two prints, like red or blue.

We love that this look has two trends in one: black and white and stripes. You get the simplistic flair with black and white and the edginess with the stripes. This look is modern, clean, and assertive, and translates well into home decor. A black and white striped accent wall or entry way? Yes, please.

Color-blocking is visually pleasing to the eye and it's as easy as wearing 2 or 3 bold colors together. Some of our favorite combos are, orange and pink, purple and yellow, or green, pink, and orange! Check out one of our earliest blog post on color-blocking here

These sorbet shades are almost good enough to eat! They're soft and chalky and make great layering pieces for a little added sweetness. From the soft pastels like mint, to bright pastels like lemon, this summer is sure to be sweet.

Pantone knew what they were doing when they picked emrald green as the color for 2013. It's a dramatic, luxurious, and regal color that can be worn for all occasions. We like this timeless color with blue and white for a fresh look, brown and yellow for a warm feel and red and orange for a modern update.

Shimmery, shiny, and almost futuristic, this trend is great for unexpected combinations. You can go as opulent as an iridescent evening gown or casual with metallic shorts and a cotton tee. This trend definitely makes a statement in and out of the home.

Necklace love!

Chances are, you own a few graphic tees (the ones from college count!) and/or plain cotton t-shirts for those days you just don't feel like dressing up. Pairing your casual tees with a statement necklace is an effortless look that adds instant glam. You don't have to save your fancy jewelry for a special occasion. This is where fancy meets casual for a fun and chic look and it proves that a fashionista does not have to sacrifice her style for comfort.

Here are a few ideas to inspire you with your fancy casual outfits:

Classic accessories!

You have a hot date tonight and you picked out the perfect little black dress, took a long shower with Bath and Body Work's Japanese Cherry Blossom, used Cover Girl's Outlast for the hottest red lips, fixed your hair in loose spiral curls, and added a dab of perfume behind your ears, knees and wrists but... there's that one special thing that can take your outfit from yes to oh yes...the classic accessory!

It adds the finishing touch to any outfit. A little black dress or blue jeans and a white tee look effortless and simple but when you add a shawl, a brooch, a clutch a belt or a blazer, you better watch out!

Accessories should complement and complete your over all look. Coco Chanel said it best because "when accessorizing, always take off the last thing you put on."

Here are a few of our favorite classic accessories we think that have stood the test of time.

Style it like Beckham!

David Beckham may have retired from football but we hope he won't retire from his style game! He is probably one of the most stylish athletes and can rock a tailored suit like nobody's business. Beckham definitely has his own style and sticks to a neutral color palette with the occasional color.

His casual style is nothing but casual. Its's effortless, simple, and natural. Relaxed fitted jeans, beanie hats, plaid shirts, tees, scarves, and reading glasses are a few of the items that make up casual Beckham. He keeps things interesting with a jacket over a jacket, a white tee peeking through a chambray shirt, or a rugged messenger bag.

Beckham just doesn't wear a suit he wears a suit. He takes his casual wear and transforms it into his formal wear. A neutral color palette, classic pieces, and clean lines make his formal wear modern and timeless. There's nothing like a tailored suit!

Posh and David make one posh couple. Beckham's neutral color palette works great against his wife's colorful ensembles. They complement each other nicely.
