We love the subtleness of wearing neutral shades — brown, black, grey, navy, white, and tan. They can be paired with just about anything in your closet and it's the perfect backdrop for adding texture, pattern, and color. They can tone down an outfit, add cohesiveness, make easy transitional pieces, are great for layering, and are wardrobe staples.
A few simple ways to wear neutrals:
In our eyes, leopard print is a neutral color, we love it that much! It's one of the few prints that make it season to season and will probably never go out of style, that means you can splurge on that leopard blazer ;). It's a statement piece on it's own and pairing it with neutrals gives it the perfect backdrop.
Black and white is a classic combination and wearing them together or separate can make an edgy statement, especially when it's broken up with textured pieces, showing a little skin or with a hint of color.
Besides beige, grey has gotten a bad rap for being a boring color. It's been associated with being devoid of emotion and is the color of cement. But pairing the two together make the perfect marriage for a chic look without the dullness.
If wearing all neutral colors is too boring for you, then adding color is the perfect way to make it fun. Imagine a neutral dress with hot pink heels. We know right, instant pizzazz!
We hope you had a wonderful January 1st!
