The Golden Globe nominations were announced last week and the first thing that came to our minds were the amazing beautiful gowns that will be walking the red carpet. This prestigious award ceremony has span a lifetime, 70 years to be exact! This means 70 years of greatness and style.
Aside from fashion week, fashion on the red carpet sets the trends for what we'll see in department stores world wide and in prom and wedding dresses. The very next day, you'll probably see looks for less and look-a-like inspired dresses worn by the stars. We can't wait to see what big trends will show up and show out at the Golden Globes on January 12, 2013!
It was hard, but we've picked our top 10 looks, in no particular order, from previous Golden Globes.
Reese Whitherspoon was absolutely radiant in this canary-yellow Nina Ricci gown designed by Oliver Theyskens. This knee length strapless cocktail dress was a nice change on the red carpet and those red Brain Atwood shoes were a nice touch (2007).
Emma Stone glowed in this gorgeous body hugging Calvin Klein gown. What do we love more than her lighter locks in an elegant up-do? The demure neckline and sleeves.
Marilyn Monroe wore this timeless sequined emerald gown by Norman Norell. This is proof that sparkle never goes out of style (1962)!
Eva Mendes wowed when she stepped out in this gorgeous white silk Dior gown. She wore a Van Cleef and Arpels turquoise necklace for a little color, sparkle, and glam (2009).
Anne Hathaway definitely sparkled in this beautiful antique rose Armani Privé gown. This backless gown was naughty from the back and sweet in the front and the details on this dress is just stunning (2011).
Salma Hayek showed off her hourglass shape in this beautiful red Narciso Rodriguez gown. The gown has a simple silhouette but made a bold statement on the red carpet (2003).
Eva Longoria made this black Zac Posen gown anything but boring. Love the fitted bodice that flared out into a beautiful train. The belted waist featured two diamond birds for added glamour (2011).
Olivia Wilde in this stunning glittery Marchesa gown reminded us of a modern day princess dress that's big and dramatic. She definitely wore this dress instead of the dress wearing her (2011).
Beyonce Knowles showed off her curves in this silver sequined gown by Ellie Sabb. She completed her look with a gorgeous platinum and diamond necklace by Lorraine Schwartz.
Sofia Vergara wore this stunning midnight blue mermaid gown custom made by Vera Wang. She finished off her look with Harry Winston earrings (2012).
