Guest post: Fashionable at the Office

Thanks Emily for guest blogging for us! Make sure you show her some love. Her blog has great product reviews, beauty and fashion tips and she's a Georgia Peach like us! :)

Hey y’all! I’m Emily from the Blue Dog Belle. I’m so excited that the Wil Harris ladies invited me to spend some time with y’all today!  I’m a blue eyed blonde Georgia girl, who moved to DC to pursue my dream working in politics. I love all things southern and sparkly, but it can be difficult to be fashionable in an office setting (especially the fashionably conservatives ones, like mine). I think the best way to balance pretty and professional is with the perfect blazer.  But finding the perfect blazer is a tall task. There are so many cute options now a days.

Go bold with these vertical stripes, this would be perfect with a cute red dress for a nautical look, no?

Or make a strong statement with big lapels, and a well defined waist.

Or for a more feminine look try this rounded collar with satin accents. And how gorgeous is this camel color for fall! Such a perfect neutral.
Or go the traditional route with pin stripes, but a defined waist for a feminine, yet powerful look.

Lately though, I’ve been loving textured blazers. I’m dying over this bright orange velvet blazer, This will transition great into fall.

Another textured look that I’m loving is the lace blazers that have been taking over the DC political scene (yes, there are fashionable folks in politics, shocking I know).
This pink look is so pretty, and dresses up a sundress, or spices up jeans and a t-shirt. This would be a great look for casual Friday!
Or channel Coco Chanel with a collarless tweed blazer. I’m loving the pops of color here!
I’m obsessed with this riding blazer. I’m seriously dreaming of skinny jeans, tall tan riding boots. Can you smell the leaves in the crisp fall air yet?
Or try this bold yet oh so office appropriate look. Try it with a navy blue pencil skirt for work, or step it up for date night with a sexy red dress. (can you tell I’m hooked on the nautical look

Or spice it up with this color-blocking look!

  1. these are all definitely very beautiful blazers! however I think they're a little too dressy for most offices...or maybe that's just in my experience! :) the pink and green ones are especially gorgeous!

  3. I will definitely try the vertical stripes! It can slim down the body for a more slender look. Those who have problems with their figure may opt for the vertical stripped blazer. I also loved the color blocking blazer! Many girls these days would try this since it has that anime-ish look and feel to it. All of the blazer picks were great Emily. Thank you!
