Fashion inspired by Hey Arnold!

Growing up in the 90's was the "The Bomb" (yeah we said it)! There was nothing like Saturday morning cartoons, but when homework was finished, dinner was done, and dishes washed cartoons came on, we were ready to settle down to watch the best of  the best, and that included Hey Arnold!

The show is about the everyday life of Arnold, a 4th-grader, who lives with his grandparents in a multi-racial boarding house in the Big Apple.

We present Fashion inspired by...

Arnold Phillip Shortman
He is often seen helping his classmates and friends solve the many problems of a nine year old. In a nutshell, the "football head" is the quintessential child and student. It may look like he's wearing a skirt but he's actually wearing an untucked shirt.

Helga G. Pataki
She is a tomboy who wears pink from head to toe. She's very bossy and sarcastic. She is secretly in love with Arnold and covers it up by teasing him endlessly and calling him "football head." When she is alone, you can catch her taking a sneak peak at her locket with Arnold's picture inside.
Dress A Wear. Bracelet ASOS. Locket. ModCloth

Phoebe Heyerdahl
Phoebe is shy and super smart. She's Helga's sidekick and more often than not does everything Helga tells her. Her cute blue dress, yellow scrunchie and adorable little flats are always accompanied with her book bag and blue glasses.

Did you watch Hey Arnold! growing up? Who was your favorite character? How does his/her style inspire you?

  2. This is such a cool post! I'm such a sucker for all things 90s so when I saw this post I was geeked! I love the idea of fashion inspired by Hey Arnold. It was one of my favorite nick toons.

I think of them all, Helga was my favorite character. She was hardcore on the outside, but on the inside she was so in love with Arnold and it was so sweet to me. It was the total polar opposite of boys being mean to girls they liked when I was coming up in elementary school.

I have very similar pieces to the ones suggested for Arnold's look, so I just may have to try that one out =)

    Loved this post, ladies <3

    1. Thanks Dre! We're suckers too, ha ha! Out of all the characters, Helga was probably the most interesting one. We love her for all the reasons you said.

We'll love to see your Arnold look when you try it out! :)

  5. Hey dolls. love love these posts! They are adorable! I would have never considered cartoon characters to be fashionable until you interpreted their looks in such a unique and stylish way that we can all wear. Kudos to that!
