Over the moon!

The half-moon manicure, also known as the reverse manicure, is a classy vintage look and a classic twist on the french manicure.

It became popular in the 1920s where polish was applied only in the center leaving the base (the moon shape) and the tip bare. During the end of the 1930s fashion-conscious women still kept the half-moon bare but applied polish to the end of the tips.

Today, the half-moon manicure is more colorful, bold, intricate and fun!

Here is our take on the manicure.
Tools we used:
10 reinforcement labels
Sally Hansen: Sorbet
China Glaze: Flip Flop Fantasy

1. Apply a clear base coat and 1-2 coats of Sally Hansen sorbert, or a color of your choice. Wait for your nails to dry 100%. It's important to wait for your nails to dry before you add the reinforcement stickers or else they will peel off the nail polish.
2. Once your nails are completely dry, place a reinforcement sticker on each nail creating the half-moon shape. You can do more or less of a moon shape but make sure you're consistent with each nail. Apply pressure to your nails so that the nail polish won't seep through the reinforcement sticker when you paint the top coat.
3. Paint the top half of your nails (above the reinforcement stickers) with 2 coats of the China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, or a color of your choice. Wait for your nails polish to dry completely.
4. Once the top coat is dry, you can peel off the reinforcement stickers. Finish with a top coat to seal in the design.
You now have have a half-moon manicure!

We hope yours turn out great! Remember to have fun with it and try out different color combinations.
